Almaty Management University joins the University Alliance of the Silk Road (UASR)

The Rector of Almaty Management University, Gulnara Turdalievna, took part in the annual University Alliance of the Silk Road summit 2023 (UASR), held in Xi’an. At the forum, experts and teachers from different countries around the world discussed development and innovations in higher education in the context of the new technological revolution.

In 2015, the University Alliance of the Silk Road was established by Xi’an University. The alliance aims to promote collaboration in the fields of higher education, student exchange to enrich educational experience, and intercultural communication, as well as the development of joint projects and research, the expansion of mutual understanding and relationships between students, developing comprehensive talents and ultimately, encouraging growth in countries situated along the historic Silk Road and in the neighbouring European regions.

7 universities from Kazakhstan took part in the summit. The accession ceremony of 14 new higher-education institutions also took place, one of them being Almaty Management University.

Gulnara Turdalievna performed on the panel for the session named “The way to Humanity’s common society Academic Collaboration and ‘One Belt One Road”:

“We have always been pioneers in business education here in Kazakhstan, teaching management to the country’s aspiring entrepreneurs. AlmaU was the first to offer MBA and DBA programs in Kazakhstan. We pride ourselves in our exceptional academic staff and the achievements of our graduates. Communication between the historic Silk Road and AlmaU is not only geographical but symbolic. Our university is building bridges between tradition and innovation by encompassing the values of the Silk Road – peace and friendship, openness and inclusivity, mutual learning and mutual benefit. We are all entering into a new era where instead of competitors, there are partners, where obstacles are new challenges, and the Silk Road University Alliance is a platform for the collaboration of the best practices, minds and solutions.

Within the framework of the forum, the Hong Kong  Government Education Bureau conducted a special meeting with  various Central Asian universities. The alliance’s next presidency ceremony will take place at Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) – it is worth noting that PolyU is a trusted partner of Almaty Management University.
