The completion of the summer academy "Joint Humanitarian Entrepreneurship Summer Academy 2019"
From June 2 - 29, the International Summer Academy in the field of social entrepreneurship “Joint Humanitarian Entrepreneurship Summer Academy 2019” was held. The Summer Academy was organized by Lingnan University (Hong Kong) together with Almaty Management University and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
The second block of the Summer Academy in the field of social entrepreneurship “Joint Humanitarian Entrepreneurship Summer Academy 2019” ended, which took place from June 15 to 29. The second block was organized jointly between Almaty Management University and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
We remind you that the first block was held from June 2 to 15 in Hong Kong (organizer of Lingnan University). It consisted of an intensive educational course with researches, an overview of sustainable development goals and how to achieve them at the local and regional level.
The second block was organized by Almaty Management University together with Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, and it passed on the campuses of both universities. Also, as part of the second block of the program, students conducted field studies in Almaty city and Almaty Region, in the villages of Kaiyndy, Yntymak, Uzynagash, over two weeks under the guidance of mentors.
Also, StartUp Night was held on June 20 in AlmaU in the framework of the “Joint Humanitarian Entrepreneurship Summer Academy 2019”. As a result, at StartUp Night, participating teams realized 7 ideas in projects in one night!
AlmaU is the first university in the country which launched a new project in the 2015-2016 academic year - the Service Learning discipline - community service training. AlmaU has strong partnership with Lingnan University (Lingnan, Hong Kong). In order to increase youth awareness and understanding of sustainable development and humanitarian work, the Summer Academy 2019 was organized in partnership with Lingnan University. Productive work of this summer school gave a new impetus to the development of intercultural interaction, and attracting students to solve real problems that is leading to instill a sense of ownership in the outside world.

At the end of the work of the “Joint Humanitarian Entrepreneurship Summer Academy 2019”, students prepared and submitted 5 projects in the field of recycling and waste, clean energy, urbanism and city management. Upon completion of the program, AlmaU hosted a ceremony of awarding certificates and commemorative badges of successful completion.
