After welcoming all international students at Almaty airport, a two-day Introduction Days programme was organized on August 30-31st for exchange and degree seeking students, starting this autumn their educational adventure at Almaty Management University. Students from countries like France, Austria or Korea participated in variety of activities, aiming to help them to settle smoothly in Almaty, and introduce them to student life, and University's educational offer.

Next to the core presentations, the two-day intensive and informative orientation programme included: free guided city tour; meetings with representatives of University's Management, Student Affairs Department, Language Center and faculties; as well as a tour inside the University, including a visit to the AlmaU Innovation Museum. All participating students received general information on studying at Almaty Management University, and accessible to all students sport, leisure and cultural facilities, like: AlmaU Sport and Art Zone, library, cafeterias, canteens, etc.

Moreover, students could participate in individual as well as group consultations with their Coordinators during which they received detailed information about all necessary formalities related to their stay in Kazakhstan (Almaty), and studying at AlmaU: enrolment in study programme, study related practices and rules, offered accommodation assistance, migration and visa related issues, health insurance, etc..

Introduction Days ensuring a smooth transition, helped new AlmaU’s international students to settle in during their first week in Kazakhstan, what is going to be vital in ensuring their overall academic performance, personal development, and wellbeing during their time at AlmaU.

WHY INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS CHOSE ALMATY MANAGEMENT UNIVERSITY?

«I am a big traveller and for me it is very interesting to discover developing countries, new cultures, and also, the way it works in other Universities, so rather than staying in Europe, I prefer to discover a new country, that I did not know.» Adheaume Carniel, IESEG Lille, France (exchange student)

«(…) Back in Korea I studied Russian language and literature, so I have always loved to explore Central Asia: Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan and so on. (…) In Korea I have seen many good people from Kazakhstan. They inspired me a lot. They actually made me choose to come here to study at this University. I came here, so I would like to learn more about Kazakhstan, languages here: Russian language and Kazakh language. That is my purpose.» Yeonung Kim, South Korea (degree seeking student)

«We had exchange students in Innsbruck from Almaty. They have told me about the city, the life here, and Universities, and I wanted to see a part of the world, that I have not heard much about and didn’t see yet, so it is a chance for me to see something new.» Maximiliam Steltz, MCI Innsbruck, Austria (exchange student)

« (…) it was to discover the country that I did not know at all, and I had no idea of how it looks like, and how it is to live here. Also, I knew that AlmaU was a very good University in Central Asia, so this is why I came here.» Robinson Kasparian, IESEG Lille, France (exchange student)

We are pleased that AlmaU's reputation has been internationally recognized by exchange and degree-seeking students coming from abroad. We would like to offer you a curriculum that will fit in perfectly with your future career aims and teach you a wide range of skills. Welcome on AlmaU board!
