«Scopus AlmaU: the first course on publishing research articles started»
One month has passed since the start of the first project-oriented course "Publishing a research article in Scopus journals" at AlmaU. There are two more months of interesting work.
During the course, participants develop a research article according to the format of Scopus journals: from the idea generation to the work ready for publication. For faculty, doctoral students and university staff participation in the course is free. For the students’ convenience, the course organizers are working on creation of a workbook on the topic of every meeting. Lecture materials are sent by e-mail and through what's app.
The mentors of the course are researchers and university staff who have research and practical experience in foreign universities and large international organizations, invited speakers (Kazakh and foreign researchers, representatives of Elsevier (Scopus), Web of Science).
Initially, about 70 AlmaU teachers, staff and doctoral students registered for the course. Weekly meetings on the course are attended by an average of 30 people, more than 50 are interested.
At the moment, students have generated the topic of their research, they are engaged in the search and selection of literature, are working on the structure of the article and research methodology depending on the specifics of the issue being studied.
The course is also attended by young students, future researchers who are already in the 1-2-3 year course interested in how to conduct scientific research and write articles.
At the end of the first month of work, trainees will be selected who will continue to work on the creation of articles.
