The representative of AlmaU visited Sabanchi University in Turkey

These days there takes place visit of the dean of Faculty of General education of Alma University Assylbek Nurgabdeshov to the Turkish universities. On April 8 the representative of AlmaU met the dean and the vice rector of the academic affairs Sabanci University for discussion of cooperation to hold two-week seminars on training of teachers of AlmaU in the active learning method.

Active learning - is an approach that focuses on the assignment of responsibility for the results of student learning. Teachers in this case are not a source of information, but rather, intermediaries who only sent. The highlight of active learning - it is self-learning and development through the work of student groups.

AlmaU conducts negotiations with Sabanci University on a possibility of implementation of active learning as principle of training to develop independence in students, to teach them better to be guided in problems and to solve them. Thus, the graduates will not only have the knowledge, but also to fully apply them in practice, even in the most stressful situations.

Sabanci University is successfully operating since 1996. Over 20 years of existence, it has established itself as one of the leading universities, entered the list of top universities in the world (according to the QS World University Rankings), and the best business schools in the world (according to AASCB International), as well as becoming the most innovative university in Turkey (according to the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey).

Sabanci University makes extensive use of active learning in teaching, demonstrating in practice the effectiveness of this approach - some 95% of graduates find employment immediately after graduation.

This cooperation will enable teachers to better reveal AlmaU abilities of students and to ensure their understanding of the study material.
