Placement Testing weeK-2: selection of AlmaU students to big companies is over!
November 16, 2015. Almaty Management University (earlier IAB) held the second day of students’ testing for internship and employment in such companies as KPMG, Kartel, Chocolife and Synergy Partners Law Firm. It was the final stage of Placement Testing weeK – new project of Career Planning Center and Alumni Relations of AlmaU.
The feature of this projects is its format. In comparison with traditional job fair, during which contact of students with employer is limited with CV application, Placement Testing weeK gives future specialists the possibility to demonstrate their potential, to talk to HR specialists of the company in live. More than 50 students of 4th year took part in testing, who understand, that first steps in career should be already made in university.
Project’s participants received unique opportunity to not only test their strength in real testing, but also work on interview skills and skills of different exercises and business games: employees of “Kartel” held interview with students, and Chocolife company organized Assessment Centre* for students.
In the opinion of participating companies, events of such a format help to receive necessary data of candidates, which will be operatively handled by HR-services, and this will allow to increase effectiveness of selection many times, since the work on initial selection of candidates and analysis of CV is done by employees of university’s career planning center and alumni relations.
As the result of Placement Testing weeK, employers received the team of the best graduates who have enough knowledge and skills, and students – practice, and, possibly, job in successful international organizations. CPCaAR is planning to continue and improve this project in the future, because this project is aimed to hugely contribute to development of AlmaU students’ career skills.
