On the results of III International Forum
On May 23, 2019, the second - main day of III International Forum was held in Nur-Sultan city.
At the opening ceremony of the Forum, Deputy Prime Minister Abdykalikova G.N. made a welcoming speech. It is noteworthy that Ms. Abdykalikova G.N. stressed the importance of entrepreneurial education in the country and in detail touched upon the actions taken and the vision of the state. At the same time, the future prospects of working with universities in creation and implementation of the business ecosystem were announced.
In welcoming speech of AlmaU President, A. B. Kozhakhmetov, a clear line was the idea of combining efforts to develop innovative projects to attract schoolchildren and students from both universities and businesses. So, he focused on AlamU and ERG project “Ecosystem of Student Entrepreneurship”, in which 8 classical regional universities were transformed into business in 4 regions of the country: Karaganda, Aktobe, Kostanay and Pavlodar. Kozhakhmetov A.B. particularly noted the event that took place on May 21, 2019 in Kostanay, during which graduates of this project presented its main results to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev.
Vice-Minister of Education and Science Zhakypova F.N., in her speech, focused on development of the main capital of the country - a human, in particular on the need to pay attention to the structure, level and quality of training specialists. A quotation from her speech: “More than 60 universities have introduced “Basics of Entrepreneurship” discipline, and are developing programs and courses in order to improve entrepreneurial competencies, skills of students and training future businessmen. Mrs. Zhakypova F.N. emphasized on the relationship and cooperation of production, business and education.
In his speech, Deputy Chairman of the Board of AIFC Administration JSC Rysmagambetov E.B. revealed the mission of AIFC Continuing Professional Development Bureau. A quotation from his speech: “Within the framework of academic partnership, we cooperate with all universities of the country and introduce new courses and specializations at leading universities in Kazakhstan. For example, we have implemented such areas as Islamic finance, risk management, and financial analysis in master's programmes.
During the day, the following plenary sessions and discussions were held among business education experts from 8 countries of the world, such as the USA, Great Britain, the Republic of Lithuania, Germany, Russia, Israel, Ukraine and Uzbekistan:
• “The Fourth Spiral: Partnership of the State, Education, Business and Civil Society”
• “Effective entrepreneurial education: competences, cases, new ideas”
• “Trajectory of happiness and well-being. Service learning"
It is gratifying to note that the plenary discussions showed the relevance of the chosen topics on business education and the topics of the Forum in particular. Participants in the course of lively debates touched upon a great number of topical and informative points of view on the considered agenda of the Forum.

In total, 35 speakers participated in the Forum representing the public sector, expert and academic community, and the business sector.
Guest master class held by #EdCrunch founder and program director, development director of NITU “MISIS”, (Russia) Nurlan Kiyasov on the topic “University development strategy: fundraising, endowment funds and alumni involvement” attracted the attention of the majority of Forum participants. This master class widely opened approaches to work with graduates.
The highlight of the main day was the championship for schoolchildren of 9-11 grades of Nur-Sultan city on creating start-ups called StartUp Making Day.
The championship proves once again that the theory and practice found a balance and application on the platform of the Forum. School teams invented ideas and created a product prototype in the following sectors of the economy:
- Smart City (Smart City)
- Smart School (Smart School)
- Smart Classroom (Smart Classroom)
In the final part of the Forum, the winners of StartUp Making Day were awarded.
Information support of the Forum was provided by the leading TV channels of the country such as Khabar, Astana, Khabar24, STV, Atameken Business Channel, and publications of Egemen Kazakhstan, International Information Agency Kazinform and SULTAN magazine.
The International Forum, which took place on May 22-23, 2019, of course, gave a new impetus to the work of entrepreneurial universities. The organizers are confident that in the next academic year, the educational community will become a platform for creative ideas and their introduction into practice.
