On AlmaU participation in “Island 10-22” intensive for leaders of the education, held on July 10-22 in Moscow at Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology

Almaty Management University, as a recognized leader in entrepreneurial education, collaborates with many leading educational platforms and universities.

The first vice-rector - Director of AlmaU Institute for the Development of Education KanagatovaAlmagulMedikhatovna and Director of Department of Information Communications BaitasovKalilalloMarkisovich took part in one of the most innovative events this year in the CIS - in the educational intensive “Island 10-22”, which took place in Moscow in Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology.

The educational intensive “Island 10-22”is an event for leaders in the field of education, the purpose of which is to provide them with access to the formation and implementation of personal development paths during training. 100 university teams led by university rectors from 72 regions of Russia and neighboring countries, teams of potential research and educational centers, entrepreneurs, scientists and government officials are taking part.

According to the name of the event, the participants were offered an intensive program that included 14 hours of training for 12 days, which consisted of input and output diagnostic games, sports, 3 training cycles with laboratories, master classes, thought clubs and visionary lectures. We confidently state that the goals of the intensive have been achieved and plans for the future have been outlined.

The results of the educational intensive “Island 10-22” for AlmaU:

- established business contacts and ties with other leaders in education, taking into account the fact that 100 universities of Russia and the Republic of Kazakhstan took part in the intensive.

- signed Cooperation Agreements with K. G. Razumovsky Moscow State University of Technology and Management and Omsk State University named after F. M. Dostoevsky, Moscow Aviation Institute, Omsk State Agrarian University named after P. A. Stolypin, Vyatka State University, Saratov State Technical University named after Gagarin Yu.A., Northeast Federal University named after M.K. Ammosov, Armavir State Pedagogical University, Dagestan State Technical University, Kazan Federal University, Kabardino-Balkarian State University, Toliatti State University, Kazan (Privolzhisky) Federal University.

Under the agreements, partner universities will jointly develop and implement joint educational programs and research projects with the goal of technological development of the Russian and Kazakhstani economies.

- signed an Agreement between IT leaders of universities in Russia and neighboring countries. The agreement provides for creation of a common venue for seminars for IT directors with annual general meetings.

- Signed a Memorandum on creation of Association of Digital Transformation of Scientific and Educational Organizations to launch a unified program of training in artificial intelligence technologies since September of this year. The document involves the creation of a network project in which students, teachers, managers and scientists will be able to participate. Also, this document ensured the university's entry into the ecosystem of the National Technological Initiative of the Russian Federation.

Almau’s membership in Association for Digital Transformation of Scientific and Educational Organizations will also be useful for cooperation on the basis of the University School of Engineering Management (SEM). Indeed, AlmaU School of Engineering's undergraduate programme includes three main specialties, such as “Business Analytics and Big Data” and “Software Engineering” and “Information Systems”. It is gratifying that this year, as a result of cooperation and the launch of an interdisciplinary programme of Graduate School of Management and the School of Engineering Management, for the first time Master students graduated "Big Data Management"programme. In 2018-2019 academic year, on the basis ofSEM laboratory, AlmaU team won first place in the Republican Robotics Olympiad “IITU Robocon 2019”. This is the result of Almau’s ongoing innovation programs.

The existing scientific and technical base of Almaty Management University will allow to take an active part in creating a unified program of training in artificial intelligence technologies. Since the last two years, teachers and students of the School of Engineering Management have been working in this direction. We are sure that participation in the Association will give a new impetus to the development of projects based on Artificial Intelligence.
