Maksut Zhumayev hoisted AlmaU banner on Mount Everest!
Maksut Zhumayev *, a legendary Kazakhstan climber, AlmaU MBA trainee, climbed “the roof of the world” - Everest for the second time in his life and hoisted the banner of his alma mater there.
The mountaineer dedicated his ascent to the 20th anniversary of Astana and the 30th anniversary of Almaty Management University.
Than the first climber's ascent to Jomolungma (the first time he climbed the highest point of the planet in 2007, the classic through the Northern Saddle) this track was more complicated (the southern slope is much more dangerous), and it was also different because the course of the expedition could be followed online at 7summit.kz. In addition, this time the climbers used additional oxygen to reach the top.

In total, the ascent lasted just over a month: the climber flew to Nepal (Kathmandu) from Moscow on April 13.
Maksut Zhumayev * is a well-known Kazakhstan alpinist, captain of the mountaineering team of RK, Honored Master of Sports in mountaineering of the Republic of Kazakhstan, multiple champion and prize-winner of the Republic of Kazakhstan in mountaineering in high-altitude class. He conquered all 14 existing eight-thousanders of the world (2000-2011). He became the 27th member of “Quest-14” and the 12th climber, who managed to climb all these eight-thousanders without using additional oxygen.
