KVN team “Capital” AlmaU won a gold medal in Baku!
KVN team “Capital” Almaty Management University (earlier IAB) took part in the final game of the second season of Regional Azerbaijan league. During a bitter struggle between 10 teams from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Russia our guys took first place and won a “Big Cup”!
Our winners only yesterday came back from Baku! The team consisted of 8 guys: Imamdunov Dilshat, Nurmanbetov Madiyar, Tolegenov Alimzhan, Shamshatov Nurzhan, Muratov Nurassyl, Dzhunusov Timur, Vekimov Aziz and the captain Sizhad Abdul-Akhmad.
One of the “veterans” of the team – Nurzhan Shamshatov – told about how they managed to beat such a big amount of competitors.
- How do you think what helped you to won the main prize in Baku?
- The reason of success, in my opinion, is colorfulness of Kazakh humor. We are already recognizable abroad, people always expect interesting game, cool jokes from Kazakhs. Also probably the fact that we really wanted to win. ))
- What is the most recognizable from your trip?
- We really liked Baku – beautiful, hospitable city. We visited legendary Maiden tower, made an old city view, visited the place where the film “Brilliant hand” was shot, specifically the scene with the phrase “Damn it!”. The final game itself is remembered with the fact that we were playing with teams from Russia whom we met in Astana, Dagestan National Team, which is the finalist in the Higher league – we have never played with them before. Dagestani guys showed Caucasus colorfulness, we from our side Kazakh colorfulness plus Azerbaijan colorfulness… Dangerous mix! But our humor is stronger!
- What is the difference between our humor and, let’s say, Azerbaijani?
- I would say that our humor differs from their with its paradoxicalness – we have unexpected jokes. You will never know what the end will be. But Azerbaijani teams are strong either, it was a big deal to beat them. By the way, there was an anchorman Alexander Alexandrovich Maslyakov and the chief-editor Dmitriy Kolchin (editor of Higher League of KVN), who are trying to level up Azerbaijani League. I have mentioned that young Azerbaijani teams started to play much better.
- What are you planning to do next?
- We are searching for sponsors in order to go to Sochi festival, which will take place in January 2016. Last year we took part in National KVN league in Astana, played in semi-final, but didn’t manage to pass to final. In Sochi last year we managed to achieve good results – we received heightened ranking, after that we were invited to 5 Russian central leagues. Now we are going to search for opportunities and sponsors in order to move forward and develop ourselves.
- Tell us a joke from your performance?
- In conclusion of our performance in Baku we joked: “And in the end, we would like to say that Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are united not only by the Caspian sea, but also the fact that we are two brotherly nations. Look, you have oil, we have oil. You had devaluation, we also had devaluation. You are very generous nation and… give us the cup!”
Well, Baku guys showed their generosity! The Cup is ours! What about other prizes: “Middle Cup” was divided between the team of Azerbaijan Technical University “Polytech” and Dagestani team “Kind People”, representing Dagestani State University. “Small Cup” was awarded to teams “Wallstreet” from Azerbaijani state economic university and “ASAN” team, which rapidly gaining momentum by the end of the season.
