The Executive MBA program of the Graduate School of Business Almaty Management University (GSB AlmaU) and the Graduate School of Management of St. Petersburg University (GSOM SPbU) has been ranked 22nd among the joint programs of the international QS Executive MBA Rankings 2021: Joint Programmes. The educational product of the two leading business schools of the CIS countries was noted in the QS ranking for the first time.

All business schools in the ranking have at least one of the triple crown accreditations. The first positions in the list were taken by the joint programs TRIUM (Higher Business School of Paris, France; London School of Economics, Great Britain; New York University, USA), EMBA-Global Americas & Europe (London Business School, Great Britain; Columbia University Business School, New York, USA) and Kellogg / HKUST (Kellogg School of Management, Chicago / Miami, USA, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong).

GSB AlmaU and GSOM SPbU joint Executive MBA program "Strategic Management and Leadership" is developed for managers and owners of companies and is aimed at improving their leadership skills and managerial competencies. In January 2021, students of the third cohort started their education - managers from various business sectors of the Republic of Kazakhstan: telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas production, hotel business and others.

The GSB AlmaU and GSOM SPbU program has been ranked second in the world according to the Executive Profile criterion — all students have extensive experience in management positions, including as senior managers.

Representatives of both Business Schools highly appreciate the results of this cooperation.

“This program is aimed at strengthening the Kazakh-Russian relationship and at increasing the countries’ economic stability. The EMBA program is an educational product created in synergy between two leading business schools in Kazakhstan and Russia. This program is designed to develop leadership qualities and managerial competencies for top managers and owners of large and medium-sized companies with at least seven years of management experience, which combines classical university education and innovative approaches to training professional managers for the global economy of the 21st century. We hope for further long-term and fruitful cooperation with our strategic partner — GSOM SPbU”, noted Dr. Gulnar Kurenkeyeva, First Vice-Rector — Dean of GSB AlmaU.

“The mention of our joint program with GSB AlmaU in QS is another proof that we have chosen the right path. We are focused on international cooperation, the creation of a high-quality, objective, and comprehensive education, building a free dialogue and mutual support. It is valuable for us that the programs we develop are important for our clients, the market and the development of not only Russian, but also international business education”, emphasized Elena Skalon, Academic Program Executive, Deputy Director for Executive Education Programs at GSOM SPbU.
