SMM for fashion industry entrepreneurs

At the end of April, the second wave of the master classes “Social Media Marketing for Fashion Domination” took place, within the framework of the British Council project “Creative Spark: Higher Education Enterprise Programme”.

On April 26, a second master class was held at Almaty Management University as part of “Creative Spark: Higher Education Enterprise Programme” project, coordinated by the British Council on development of marketing skills and knowledge for residents of the industry. The event was organized by Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation Development (AlmaU), University of Northampton (United Kingdom) and Kazakhstan Fashion Week.

This time, one of the most pressing topics for a developing business, marketing and promotion in social media, was chosen to streamline the participants’ skills. Thanks to an effective balance of theoretical and applied knowledge, students learned about modern methods of intensive marketing based on the best international practical cases.

The first speaker of the master class was the creator of Fashion Promotion Course London, winner of "Graduate Fashion Week Pop Up Environment" from Elle Magazine 2012, Per Aquaam Marketing Award Winner, New Media Award Winner, Graduate Fashion Week 2015, expert adviser of such fashion industry representatives as Alexandra Shulman, Bruce Oldfield, Barbara Hulanicki, Felicity Green, Bellville Sassoon, Colin McDowell, Caryn Franklin, Gieves and Hawkes, Modus Digital, Tiger Aspect TV, True Religion, Orsola de Castro (Fashion Revolution), Bicester Retail Village and Burberry, fashion-marketer - Iain Bromle.

Iain conducted a master class on “Strategic Marketing” and gave students specific tools in the field of market segmentation and targeting.

The second speaker was Kardi Somerfield, an expert in digital marketing at the University of Northampton (United Kingdom), who deepened the topic and presented in detail targeted marketing communications, in particular, he revealed the approaches of omnichannel and brand storytelling.

75 residents of the project, who were fashion designers, entrepreneurs, retail, fashion bloggers, representatives of universities, participated and charged with creative and entrepreneurial energy of the second wave of master classes.
