Dean of the GSB AlmaU participated in the meeting of the AMBA International Advisory Accreditation Council in London

Dean of the AlmaU Graduate School of Business, Kurenkeeva Gulnara participated in the AMBA International Advisory Accreditation Board, which took place on January 31 in London.

New ideas, discussion of common problems, expert opinions of respected colleagues about the prospects and future of business education - all of this gives an understanding that the AlmaU Graduate School of Business keeps abreast of the most important trends in the global development of business education. The global world is very close, we have common problems and solicitudes, global standards are not an abstract concept, but the work that the GSB team does every day. GSB dean’s membership in the International Advisory Accreditation Board AMBA is the recognition of the high quality of MBA and DBA educational programs.

AMBA is one of the three most prestigious global business accreditations included in the "Triple crown". Remind you that for the first time, AlmaU University (at that period International Academy of Business) received the global accreditation of AMBA in 2013 for a period of three years. In 2016, AlmaU received reaccreditation for the maximum possible period of 5 years. Currently, AMBA accredits 264 schools, where continental Europe constitutes the overwhelming majority - 105.

Only 2% of business schools in more than 70 countries of the world are accredited by AMBA. Thus, Almaty Management University continues to be on a par with the 264 best business schools in the world, such as: HEC, INSEAD, Rouen Business School, Maastricht School of Management, University of Hong Kong, etc. At the same time, AlmaU is the only business university accredited by AMBA in Central Asia and Kazakhstan. The AMBA accreditation guarantees to an AlmaU MBA school graduate the recognition of his or her diploma all around the world. Almaty Management University gives its students an AMBA certificate confirming the quality of the global level education. However, this is not the only plus of AMBA membership.

Kurenkeeva G.T. was also invited to the AMBA Excellence Award & Gala Dinner 2019 as a guest of honor.

We also inform that the MBA Association has launched a related brand - the Business Graduate Association, which seeks to become the “leading global movement” in business education, while opening membership to business schools that may not qualify for AMBA accreditation.

BGA is significantly different from AMBA accreditation, and according to the leaders, this is no less important accreditation. Membership in the new association is open to both AMBA accredited schools and non-AMBA schools.

It is important to pay attention on that AMBA is open only for schools offering master's degrees in business and management, BGA will be open for schools offering business programs from undergraduate and above.

According to Andrew Mayne Wilson, CEO of AMBA BGA, business schools that “clearly demonstrate a passion for practical, entrepreneurial business education with a proven commitment to social responsibility and sustainability” in all program modules will be welcome among BGA members. BGA will open membership in schools that cannot be accredited by AMBA, as well as in schools accredited by AMBA.
