AlmaU Winter School Diaries: Third day

Teachers from various educational institutions of Kazakhstan have been studying at AlmaU in the XXIII winter school for the third day.

Today, participants attended stress management training. According to statistics, 90% of Americans are constantly experiencing stress. In Kazakhstan, there is no accurate statistics, but presumably 85% of Kazakhstanis live under stress.

Samal Mamashaeva, business coach, consultant, expert in the field of personnel management, told what stress is, how to recognize stress levels and how to manage them.

“Syllabus determines the teacher’s professionalism today, whether anyone will go for it or not. The time comes when students choose not the university, but the syllabus of one or another teacher,” said Almagul Kanagatova.

What is the author’s syllabus? What rules is it formed by? Participants learned about this at the workshop “Effective Day Syllabus: Concept, Unpacking and Packing” (speakers: Yerbol Ismailov, General Director of Independent Analytical Center under Samruk-Kazyna JSC, an expert on social interaction and strategic communications, and Aiymgul Tleuzhanova, Director of AlmaU Innovation Program Center).

“Our task is not to teach you to create syllabuses, but to teach you to think, cogitate and realize, to form an understanding of the syllabus content itself. Syllabus is a discipline that is part of the curriculum; it answers the question: what competencies and skills will the student end up with in order to meet market requirements, ”says Ayymgul Tleuzhanova.

Gaukhar Nursha, director of the Center for Teaching Excellence AlmaU, and Nurgul Zhanabaeva, manager of the Center for Teaching Excellence AlmaU, held a final seminar on the topic “We create author's training: one more step towards pedagogical excellence”. The difference between the trainer and the teacher, how the teacher becomes flexible, how to promote yourself - the participants of the training learned about this and many other things.

“We want teachers to get additional experience, to conduct trainings for any audience, of any age. We give you a ready route from the level “I am a teacher” to the level “I am a coach”, we show this roadmap. Moreover, training is not only a curriculum, it’s all around: it’s an image, it’s a reputation, it’s a promotion, it’s a social network, etc. ”- Gauhar Nursha.

The participants of the winter school are looking forward to tomorrow, because a secret speaker is coming, they can only guess who is it.
