AlmaU students learning about big business from inside view

Often students do not have an opportunity to feel the corporate spirit before graduation. On October 29-30 AlmaU students had a chance to make study visits to Phillip Morris Kazakhstan and the Almaty office of Ernst & Young, organized by Career Planning Center of Almaty Management University (formerly IAB).

Business trip began with Phillip Morris Kazakhstan (PMK), where students were not only able to note the features of the various departments (Finance, Marketing, Sales, HR), but also to witness the whole process of production, storage and transportation of finished goods. Students learned about the social projects of PMK, which, for example, attract people with disabilities to work in sewing and cooking workshops, helping villagers to develop agribusiness.

The interesting part of the Open Day was that PMK prepared business game specially for students, during which guests from AlmaU demonstrated their business skills and savvy.

If Phillip Morris Kazakhstan invited students of 2nd, 3rd and 4th year, who passed the selection stages, organized by the company, to the Business Party at Ernst & Young on October 30 only best students proposed by the university  were able to attend.

As part of the business the event, the students had communicatons with partners, senior managers and managers of the company, asked questions about the secrets of building a successful career, refined what knowledge and skills candidates for the positions at Ernst & Young must have.

According to the participants, such events help them to more accurately plan their future, to understand the opportunities and perspectivew of work in world-class companies such as Ernst & Young and Phillip Morris Kazakhstan.
