AlmaU has celebrated Science and Research Day of Kazakhstan

This year, Almaty Management University conducted a number of activities at the Science and Research Day of Kazakhstan:

 

PART 1

The day began with a round table on "Research Management at Universities of Kazakhstan: problems and solutions". There were main speakers at the event:

Adil Zh. Ibraev (President of the National Center for State Scientific and Technical Expertise)

Zhanserik B. Ilmariev (Managing director for innovation of Kazakh-British Technical University)

Raisa K. Uskenbaeva (Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of International University of Information Technologies)

Christian Kahl (Vice-Rector for Research and International Development of Almaty Management University)

Daniyar Sapargaliyev (Director of Research and Development Department of Almaty Management University)

 

Over the entire event a broad discussion of issues and problems on management of research activities at universities among researchers AlmaU and representatives of other organization were debated. The outcome of the round table was that universities, especially in research needs to work stronger together. In addition regularly meetings should be arranged to discuss the progress.  (overall 18 participants).

 

PART 2

Also in the first half of the day, there was a traditional weekly seminar "Research Environment of AlmaU" on the topic "Intellectual Capital: Indicators and Interconnection"

Speaker was Vilmur Muratbekovich Auken, PhD, Dean of Management for the Development of Master's and Doctoral programs. The topic of the seminar aroused great interest not only among the university audience, but also among the participants on online broadcast (5 face-to-face participants and 39 Facebook participants).

 

PART 3

In the afternoon, the Vice-Rector for Research and International Development, Dr. Christian Kahl, presented the author's training workshop on "How to use the Mendeley program to manage bibliographic information". Various researchers of the university learned more about the work of a specialized software product that helps to organize scientific activity more effectively (10 participants).

 

PART 4

Throughout the day, there were several announcements in three languages on the electronic scoreboard as well as there were detailed information on the internal dispatch of the university INFO:

  • Call for papers for the first edition of the Eurasian Journal of Leadership of AlmaU
  • Call for applications for the grant competition of the Early Researcher Grant Award (ERGA).

 

PART 5

Student research club "DIXI" organized a book-crossing event among students and staff of the university, which was a success as well, because the interest in read and leatn is still the main curiosity in AlmaU.
