AlmaU and Yessenov University​ will launch joint educational programs

On February 12, a delegation from Yessenov University headed by the rector Berik Akhmetov visited Almaty Management University.

For the guests, a tour round  AlmaU Knowledge Building was organized, during which they got acquainted with the principle of work of  AlmaU laboratories and centers, including the laboratory of neuromarketing (equipment for this laboratory - camcorders, microphones and mobile eye tracking system Tobii Glasses 2 were provided with the help of Magnum Cash and Carry).

Then they visited a simulation room of  Mediation center and Center of Excellence. The guests took interest in the information that the room equipped with four video cameras, microphones and voice recorders is used to resolve disputes and conflicts that may arise in the educational process, for example, between a teacher and a student.

Then the delegation visited the workshop of oratory, cyberpolygon "InzhEkon" laboratories, DesignLab and PetroleumTransportLab of School of Economics and Logistics, and also  “MediaLab” multimedia journalism center of Graduate School of State and Public administration and law.

A great impression on the guests was made by Atrium Grand Hall for 600 seats with a huge LED display and professional acoustic and lighting equipment, Creative Zone, designed specifically for students, and AlmaU innovative museum.

After the tour the delegation presented a model of an entrepreneurial university, developed by AlmaU, and also  MBA in Education program and University knowledge management system. The hosts also shared with the guests the experience of holding winter and summer schools, talked about how “Service Learning” discipline was introduced in the university, presented the activity of Center for work with students and Department for international cooperation.

The result of the meeting was the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the two universities. The parties agreed on academic exchange of students and teachers, development of joint educational programs, joint research activities, and other forms of educational and scientific partnership.
