AlmaU and KATEV: partnership without competition
On January 22, administration of Almaty Management University (earlier IAB) met delegation of the international public foundation “KATEV”. The meeting included discussion of the question of cooperation with Fund and its member institutions: Kazakh-Turkish high schools, colleges, university of Suleiman Demirel.
President of the fund Darkhan Ote represented KATEV delegation. The delegation also included: Kaplan Dursun, head of educational department of "KATEV"; Yogurtcu Yasin, director of the Aksay Kazakh-Turkish lyceum (KTL); Kairat Moldashev, professor-assistant of University of Suleiman Demirel (SDU).
By the results of the visit, the AlmaU and «KATEV» will sign a memorandum on cooperation (including the involvement of students of Kazakh-Turkish high lyceums and schools for education in our university). Also planned bilateral guest lectures, various events, and joint implementation of projects.
International public fund «KATEV» was created in 1997 based on the 1992 agreement between Kazakhstan and Turkey for coordination of work of the Turkish educational institutions in our country.
Today under the authority of the International public fund "KATEV" are:
- 29 Kazakh-Turkish lyceums
- University of Suleiman Demirel (SDU).
- Zhambyk Economic college in Taraz city
- International school “Nur Orda”
For more than 20 years, institutions within the structure of «KATEV», in particular, the Kazakh-Turkish lyceums, have earned the trust of Kazakhstani people and were highly appreciated by the Ministry of Education and Science of Republic of Kazakhstan. Cooperation of Fund with the oldest and one of the best business schools of the country - Almaty Management University - intended to initiate the process of exchange of experience between the best educational institutions of the two countries.
