Almaty: Talk about harm of excessive knowledge and the 4th technological revolution
May 30, 2018, II annual International Forum "Entrepreneurship in emerging societies: transformation of values" took place in Almaty.
The forum brought together well-known international and Kazakhstani experts, leaders and representatives of business and academic communities, government bodies, NGOs, the media.
In the keynote speeches section, organized in the framework of the forum, there were a few very interesting speeches:
Margulan Seisembayev, founder of “Seimar” company, member of the Board of Trustees of AlmaU: "In future, all mankind will need not so much knowledge as common sense. It is necessary to distinguish between nominal indicators and real possibilities. The value of knowledge is directly determined by the goals. The more we have comfort, the more excessive knowledge. The less need, the more excessive knowledge. Studying someone else's success is acquisition of excessive knowledge. Studying other people's mistakes is the way to the goal and success. Errors are typical, and success is unique. Knowledge without action does not lead to success, and actions without knowledge often lead. Necessary knowledge requires effort and does not require a lot of money, if you do not acquire necessary knowledge, you acquire unnecessary knowledge".
Albert Ko, deputy director of Lingnan Entrepreneurship Initiatives (LEI), deputy director of Office of Service-Learning (OSL), Lingnan University, asked the question whether promotion of artificial intelligence would help to advance humanity? According to him, development of technology will help only those who are able to buy a house, car, etc. And if we talk about healthcare, then very few people even from the middle class can pay for their treatment: "International problems today are related to development of technology: robotics and artificial intelligence take jobs. And practice shows that he is recognized useful who can work with technology, robots. The statistics shows: the number of jobs at enterprises has decreased by 90%, and in the service sector it has grown by 40%. "
Sayasat Nurbek, an expert in education, member of the Board of Trustees of AlmaU: "4th technological revolution is a new revolution, special. It encroaches on our nature, on monopoly of thinking. We compete with our creations. The only correct system solution is to change radically our education system. No artificial intelligence has such human qualities as abstract thinking, awareness, intuition and emotions. Reserves must be sought in our natural advantages. "
Shahan Zhuldusbayev, wheelchairman, head of “Pandus OK” LLP, a company which equips social objects with ramps and social infrastructure: "Do not build for us without us. For a short period we adapted more than 50 objects for people with disabilities... At some point in my life I began to practice Paralympic sports, swimming, and in the summer of 2013 I started to participate in competitions, and in 2014 I became a prize winner of Republican competitions, and in 2017 - a bronze medalist at international competitions in Berlin ... My result and success is due to help of family, colleagues, friends and motivation from Address of the Head of State”.
