The winner in the nomination “For supporting education” Assylbek Kozhakhmetov in 2008 launched an initiative to help rural schools in crisis years as the most vulnerable representatives of education. The essence of the social project “Support for Rural Schools by Universities of the Country” was that each university (there were 144 in Kazakhstan at that time) took over one rural area of the republic (200) and helped schools in the region, primarily in terms of raising teacher qualifications. In 2009, IAB, without waiting for a response from other universities, took patronage over Aiyrtau region of North Kazakhstan region. Since 2009, 331 participants of Aiyrtau district of the North Kazakhstan region have improved their qualification skills in Almaty.
Whereas, the Director of AlmaU Social Entrepreneurship Center Nurzhan Alzhanova provides information assistance in supporting and developing social projects for people with disabilities. She conducts consulting and methodological assistance as a mentor and expert; provides financial assistance in the form of additional resources; supports the aspirations of people with disabilities to overcome social inequalities through acquisition of new knowledge, development of their own business ideas and their careers.
For 12 years in Kazakhstan there is a tradition to celebrate and reward people with Golden Hearts - benefactors, patrons of art, public figures, whose contribution to the development of the country's charity helps to maintain faith in the goodness of the human soul. “Altyn Zhurek” is, first of all, gratitude to all caring and sympathetic people, whose deeds are an example of kindness and compassion in any developed society.
