Celebrate Chinese and Korean New Year!

On February 26 in Almaty Management University (earlier IAB) was held a concert in honor of celebration of East New year.

The students of 1, 2 and 3 year of study who learn the Chinese and Korean languages have taken part in the organization of the Festival. It was interesting to students to get acquainted with culture of other people - participants sang songs in the learned language, performed national dances, and also explained value of some traditions and customs of a meeting of Korean and Chinese New Year.

However, traditions of celebration in both countries are similar, because custom to meet new year according to a lunar calendar extended across Asia from Celestial Empire. So, in China Lunar New Year is called Chunjie (Spring Festival) and in Korea - Seollal, and it usually falls at the beginning of February.

As well as the Nauryz in Kazakhstan, Chunjie and Sollal are perceived as day of the beginning of spring when the nature starts to slowly prepare for the flowering and renewa. For this reason, many customs and signs connected with these holidays are urged to provide richness of the upcoming harvest.

The holiday organized by students was interesting and fun, and at the end of event, each attendee has received a New Year's gift!
