AlmaU hosted the first public defense for conferring “Teacher-Researcher” status position
At the end of September 2018, AlmaU hosted the first public defense of teachers for conferment of “Teacher-Researcher” and “Teacher-Master” status positions. The first public defense was attended by 8 teachers with extensive teaching experience, research and expert skills.
During the public defense, Daniyar Sapargaliev scored the highest points according to voting results. The applicants were evaluated by the members of the competition commission and external experts: Kennedy Rowen, Deputy Director of British Council in Kazakhstan, and Elmira Karmanova, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of "Community Plus" PF.
One of the university’s strategy directions for 2018-2025 is the development of faculty and staff as a key asset of the university. In this direction, in 2018, a new procedure was adopted for assigning status positions for AlmaU teachers. The status positions consist of 4 levels of pedagogical mastery: “Teacher – moderator”, “Teacher – expert”, “Teacher – researcher” and “Teacher-master”.
The status position is awarded in the new format - in the form of public defence. Each status position requires a certain level of pedagogical skills, expert activities, as well as a contribution to research activities of the university. This means that as status increases, qualification requirements and salary increases too.
