AlmaU hosted a guest lecture by representatives of “Rosa Khutor” ski resort

In the framework of the guest lecture project, on December 6, 2019  at Almaty Management University, representatives of “Rosa Khutor” resort (Russia, Sochi) spoke with 1-4 year students of R&HB specialty on the topic: “Event tourism as a promising type of development of tourist services”.

“Rosa Khutor” ski resort is the largest mountain resort in Russia, which hosted 2014 Olympic Ski Program. Today, “Rosa Khutor” resort tops the list of the best mountain resorts in the CIS and for seven consecutive years has been recognized as the best ski resort in Russia according to the World Ski Awards.

In 2018, “Rosa Khutor” and “Shymbulak” resort in Kazakhstan signed a memorandum of cooperation. Within the framework of the memorandum, partner resorts provide informational, educational, methodological and advisory support in the organization and development of spa and recreation, sports and tourism. Also, “Rosa Khutor” resort is planning joint projects with Almaty Tourism Department and Kazakh Tourism National Company.

The speakers of the lecture were:

• Head of the product marketing department of “Rosa Khutor” SR - Alexandra Batalova

During the guest meeting, specialists introduced students with the resort and such a promising, dynamically developing direction in tourism as event tourism, in which tourist trips are dedicated to large-scale events. For successful implementation of such projects, there are a number of factors that must be taken into account.

Following the results of the lecture, a session of questions and answers was organized, at which students were able to ask questions to specialists. An agreement was also reached on organizing practice for students in the resort in the Russian Federation.
