In AlmaU discussed advantages and disadvantages of membership of Kazakhstan in the WTO

March 11, 2016. The School of Law of Almaty Management University (earlier IAB) held a round table in partner university – University of Süleyman Demirel - on the subject "Mechanisms of protecting the interests of the industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the conditions of membership in the WTO".

Roundtable participants were faculty members of the two universities, law students, as well as guest - Anahit Smbatyan, LL.D., senior expert of Autonomous Non-Commercial Organization "Expertize center concerning the World Trade Organization" (Moscow, Russia), the practicing lawyer in the field of the international commercial law.

The roundtable participants discussed the issues and the protection instruments of the interests of Kazakhstan in the WTO, as well as to protection of the interests of domestic companies focused on both foreign markets and the domestic market and the market of the Eurasian Economic Union. Also during the roundtable participants disscussed the issue of interaction between government and industry on the country's membership in the WTO, the problem of risks minimization of attraction of the Republic of Kazakhstan to responsibility for violation of obligations within the WTO, and also preparation of national personnel to the WTO.

The subject which is very actual in the context of an entrance of Kazakhstan to the WTO caused interest and brisk discussion among participants of the round table.
