GSU Impact Evaluation Workshop was held in AlmaU

 

Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University (Atlanta, USA) partnered with AlmaU to organize “Impact Evaluation Workshop” in Almaty, Kazakhstan between April 11-14, 2022.

The 3-day workshop was held at AlmaU campus and featured distinguished international speakers with vast experience in applying impact evaluation methods in various fields such as education, healthcare, governance, social safety, among others. The event was funded by Georgia State University Office of International Initiatives.

The lecturers covered the following themes:

Lecture 1: Outcome Framework, Counterfactuals, and Selection Bias

Lecture 2: Impact Evaluation trends and opportunities

Lecture 3: Randomized Controlled Trials

Lecture 4: Difference-in-Difference and Instrumental variables

Lecture 5: Regression Discontinuity

Lecture 6: Matching

Lecture 7: Lab experiments

Lecture 8: A guide to a successful funding proposal

Lecture 9: Successful research partnerships 

The workshop finished with the certificate award ceremony.
