Results of «ZachOt-2017» Contest

 

IХ Republican Contest "ZachOt" among authors and editions of mass media for the best coverage of the topic of education in the Republic of Kazakhstan summed up the results.

The contest was initiated in 2009 by International Business Academy (IAB), now Almaty Management University (AlmaU) and it is  the eighth year supported by Kazakhstan Press Club (KPC).

The purpose of the contest is to draw public attention to problems related to education in Kazakhstan; informing the population about opportunities for obtaining high-quality education in the country and abroad, as well as stimulating interest of media to provide a profound and objective coverage of problems of education in the country, and raising professionalism of journalists who write on an educational topic.

In total, the contest received 221 works from 38 authors. 5 authors of newspapers, 12 websites, 7 TV channels, 7 journalists from news agencies, 2 from magazines and 5 bloggers from blog platforms and social networks took part in the contest; among 38 submitted applications - 7 came from regional authors and publications, 10 - from media and authors writing in the state language.

Among the selection criteria, which guided the work of the jury are relevance and significance of the publication; formulation of the problem and its comprehensive coverage; professionalism and mastery of presentation; In addition, all materials provided were to be placed in the media at no cost. Priority was given to those materials that were sent to the contest by the authors themselves. Some of the nominees were determined by monitoring publications in the media for the entire 2016 year. Press monitoring was provided by Kazakhstan Press Club.

 

 «ZachОt-2017» jury members were:                                                             

1. Asylbek Kozhakhmetov, President of Almaty Management University;

2. Gulmira Kurganbayeva, Rector of Almaty Management University;

3. Assel Karaulova, President of Kazakhstan Press Club;

4. Dos Kushim, political scientist, publicist, chairman of “Ult tagdyry” public association;

 

Having studied all the presented works and the best materials from monitoring, the jury determined the winners in 10 nominations.

 So, the winners among the publications were:

“Expert-Kazakhstan” magazine received "ZachOt" in the nomination “Best coverage of Life-long learning topic”;

Novacity.kz portal received "ZachOt" in the nomination "Best lifehack on education topic".

 Winners among the authors were:

 Vera Lyakhovskaya, "Kazakhstanskaya Pravda" newspaper  received "ZachOt" in the nomination "Best material on the actual topic";

Kamshat Tasbolat, "Aikyn" newspaper received "ZachOt" in the nomination "Best coverage of the topic of entrepreneurial education";

Katerina Klemenkova, “Sputnik Kazakhstan” news agency received "ZachOt" in the nomination "Best material on the topic of academic honesty";

Eugenia Bodrova, informburo.kz, received "ZachOt" in the nomination "Best coverage of modern trends in education";

Kymbat Yeltaizyzy, Baq.kz, received "ZachOt" in the nomination "Best news coverage of education in the information tape in the Kazakh language";

Dastan Sapashov, TV channel of Almaty, "Innovatia igiligi" program, received "ZachOt" in the nomination "Best TV report on innovation in education";

Tatyana Trubacheva, Forbes Kazakhstan magazine, received "ZachOt" in the nomination "Best coverage of the topic of business education in RK"

Blogger and journalist Botagoz Zhumanova received "ZachOt" in the nomination "Best post in a personal blog on education".

Honorary diploma of  "ZachOt-2017" Republican contest was awarded to Kazakhstan Press Club as the best media partner.

All the winners were awarded with diplomas and stelas of "ZachOt-2017" contest, as well as valuable prizes and souvenirs of AlmaU.
