US Consul General Mr. Eric Meyer visited AlmaU

On November 19th US Consul General Mr. Eric Meyer has kindly accepted the invitation and visited AlmaU along with Assistant Public Affairs Officer Stephanie Straface and American Spaces Coordinator Elmira Kireyeva. It has been an honor for our International Office and the whole University to welcome Mr. Meyer.

U.S. Consul General gave an interactive guest lecture in the format of a round table to the students majoring in Regional Studies and studying English Language. Mr. Meyer talked about his exciting story of becoming a diplomat, collaboration between United States and Kazakhstan as well as the whole Central Asian Region. Students got a wonderful chance to ask questions and get tips on learning several languages and becoming a diplomat. Mr. Meyer inspired all participants to be the best representatives of their countries no matter where they live, study or work, to be proud of their heritage and open to the world.

AlmaU has several strong partners in the United States, including Saint Cloud State University and the Babson College. Diverse pool of our faculty, staff and students includes alumni of the US Department of State sponsored programs such as Fulbright, FLEX and IVLP.

AlmaU International office actively promotes the events of the US Consulate General and American Space in our Facebook International Office page and also encourages all students, faculty and staff to follow their official pages for exciting opportunities and upcoming news.

Almaty Management University would like to thank the US Consulate in Almaty, US Consul Mr. Eric Meyer and the American Councils for collaborating with us and giving this wonderful opportunity to learn from the expert of diplomacy and engage in partnership with US Department of State programs.
