International scientific online conference "Actual problems of ensuring biological safety in modern conditions"
On September 22-23, 2021 will be held the International Scientific Online Conference "Actual problems of ensuring biological safety in modern conditions". This conference will be devoted to discussing the spread of coronavirus infection COVID-19 and preventing the emergence of new infectious diseases.
Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) originated in Wuhan, China in late December 2019 and quickly spread around the world. To date, about 228 million cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection have been recorded in the world, more than 4.6 million people have died. However, as Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) told the 74th World Health Assembly, “the evolutionary certainty that another virus will emerge that could be more transmissible and more deadly than COVID-19". And as we observe, the world is not ready for new threats. Therefore, more than ever, it is important to unite the efforts of scientists, share new knowledge and experience, and start joint expanded research. This conference is designed to introduce scientists from different countries to each other, share knowledge, experience, protocols, discuss possible threats, develop common recommendations for ensuring biological safety.
The idea of holding this event arose at the meetings of the Regional Council of Scientists to Combat Epidemiological Threats, which brings together scientists from the countries of Central Asia and the Caucasus.
The conference is organized by Nazarbayev University, Science Foundation of the Ministry of Education and Science and Almaty Management University (AlmaU). The strategic partner of the conference is the International Science and Technology Center (ISTC). The conference is supported by the Ministry of Education and Science, as well as the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The conference program includes speeches by over 30 scientists from leading scientific organizations of near and far abroad: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Armenia, Georgia, Belarus, as well as the USA, Argentina and Hong Kong.
The conference will be held online through a virtual platform. Information about the conference can be found on the website: https://rc-scientists.com.
