On a meeting with the Chairman of the Anti- corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan Shpekbayev A.Zh.

On November 8, 2019, AlmaU was visited by a delegation of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan, headed by Chairman Shpekbayev A.Zh.

The delegation also included: Head of Almaty Department of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kairat Suntaev, Director of the Integrity Department of the Republic of Kazakhstan Anti-Corruption Agency Daniyar Sabirbayev, Head of “Sanaly Orpak” Republican Project Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan Anti-Corruption Agency Kaiyrzhan Tokushev, First Deputy Head of the Department of Anti-Corruption Kaiyrzhan Tokushev Republic of Kazakhstan on combating corruption in Almaty Daniyar Taumurat, Head of Department of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty city Elnar Igilikov.

In her welcoming speech, AlmaU Rector Gulmira Kurganbaeva emphasized that the importance of the third mission of universities, in addition to teaching and research, is influence and meanings. Developing the idea that the university is a temple of knowledge, a place for personal development and the search for designation, Gulmira Amanzholovna focused the audience on the key role of values, education, citizenship, culture, service learning and social responsibility. The rector elaborated on the development of the School of Integrity.

"As part of the anti-corruption policy, a university risk map has been developed, "Fundamentals of anti-corruption policy" discipline has been introduced, and specialized "anti-corruption" advisory hours for students, faculty and university staff have been held. AlmaU Code of Ethics is adopted and used, and academic honesty is monitored "

The Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alik Shpekbayev spoke about the ongoing preventive work and the pilot areas of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Thus, the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Civil Service Affairs and Anti-Corruption with the support of Almaty Akimat and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in 2018 initiated “Sanaly Urpak” project, aimed at eradicating corruption in the field of education. The main goal of the project is eradication of corruption in the education system, formation of an environment of universal rejection of corruption through the education system. Alik Shpekbayev emphasized that the university venue for such meetings is the most relevant. Students also gave feedback and suggestions.

AlmaU Student Council President Amir Kaydarov provided information on 10 student clubs and organizations. Amir Kaydarov spoke about “Sanaly Urpaq” student community created at AlmaU. The guests and participants of the meeting learned what work among the student community has been done to instill an anti-corruption culture and academic honesty.

The guests were presented with a classroom of integrity, an innovative museum, a neuromarketing laboratory of the Graduate School of Management, a public speaking workshop of the School of State and Public Policy and Law, a historical stand of the Graduate School of Business, a laboratory of the Cyber ​​training ground of the School of Engineering Management, and a tea museum - a laboratory of the School of Hospitality and Tourism.

This event achieved its aim, and, it was aimed at involving young people in implementation of the anti-corruption strategy of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2015-2025. After all, “Sanaly Urpak” project unites patriotic and competitive youth aimed at living in Kazakhstan, free of corruption.
