AlmaU Winter School Diaries: Second day
The day was intense and full of emotions. Guest speakers shared the information useful for further development, had fascinating exercises and games, and in the evening the participants had a chance to learn body and voice techniques.
Before lunch, teachers did qigong practice exercises, played interactive games, drew, and even danced. The training charged everyone with energy and good mood for the whole day. Yerbol Ismailov, an expert in social and labor relations and strategic communications, encouraged the participants and helped them to understand in practice how team building is going on.
After lunch, the participants divided into groups to continue the plenary sessions.
The term "emotional intelligence" is often used today, but do you know what it is? Ask yourself: are emotions and feelings synonymous? Is it possible to manage emotions? Do you know yourself?
Such questions were asked by the participants of the next training (speakers - Irina Khan, Head of Oratory Workshop, Emerita Professor, and Daniyar Medetov, Master of Business and Strategy (Henley Business School, UK), founder of a number of start-up projects).
The coaches of “Emotional Intellect of the Manager” course used visualization - they suggested that the participants watch the film in order to “monitor” and then adopt the emotions experienced by the characters of this film for further analysis of the situation in their private cases.
The guest speaker Svetlana Ushakova, a teacher and trainer, came at the plenary session “Creating the author's training: one more step towards pedagogical excellence”. Svetlana explained the difference between a lecturer, a teacher and a coach, spoke about interactive (responsive to user’s actions) teaching methods and her experience, and shared her personal pedagogical rules with the audience.
Then the participants attended Alexandra Bigler’s training “Body orientation and work with voice”. Alexandra is a theater and cinema actress, a director, a certified trainer and a coordinator of group programs at Fitnation fitness club.
Teachers had practical exercises with clamps, understanding of body impulse and voice.
“It is very important for professors, rectors, teachers to work with their own bodies, because the body is an energy resource and mode of expression. Teachers, like actors, work with the body. We are used to the fact that teachers use their mind and do not use their body. To develop themselves, teachers need to engage in various techniques,” shared Alexandra Bigler.
Tomorrow, participants will have to look at "stress" from a new perspective.
