Babson Collaborative Student Challenge: goals of sustainable development and project management

On February 9, 2018 in Almaty Management University  "UN goals in the field of sustainable development" training was held. The training was conducted by Aizhan Kulmuhamed, co-founder and director for the development of Neupusti.net. educational project

Now students from all over the world are working to create their own business and social projects which contribute to solution of one of 17 goals of sustainable development. All this is a local stage of The Babson Collaborative Student Challenge 2018 global contest.

As part of the training, Aizhan Kulmuhamed told participants about features of creating projects and writing project applications. Aizhan also shared the tools to create an effective presentation of yourself and your project to the public.

Aizhan Kulmuhamed recommends a thorough approach to the choice of the problem, you need to assess the needs, keep your finger on the pulse to understand what really a problem is and what is not.

The coach told about several successful projects, both in Kazakhstan and abroad. For example, in Syria,  “Sesame Street” project was launched, showing children a puppet show on the street, teaching them in a creative way, or "Inclusive Water Park" in the United States, where a barrier-free environment was created that allows swimming and having fun for children with disabilities.

Aizhan Kulmuhamed is convinced that every project must be sustainable. This is one of the important criteria not only for judges, but also shows reality and viability of any enterprise: commercial and social.

Babson Collaborative Student Challenge 2018 will allow students to implement projects aimed at addressing one of 17 UN goals for sustainable development.

Babson Collaborative is a member organization that unites educational institutions which want to create and develop entrepreneurship education to improve our world. AlmaU has been a member of the Babson Collaborative since 2017.
