AlmaU University participated in the SDSN workshop "Climate and Energy"

Representatives of Almaty Management University(AlmaU) participated in the SDSN seminar "Climate and Energy", which took place on November 30th. This workshop aims to bring together experts and professionals from universities to discuss current issues related to energy and climate change topics and find possible solutions.

Aurora Díaz-Soloaga, Senior Lecturer of School of Management, presented topic “Reducing Respiratory Disease due to Air Pollution in Almaty, Kazakhstan: a student collaboration between Lehigh and AlmaU”. The UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) was established in 2012 under the auspices of the UN Secretary-General. SDSN mobilizes global scientific and technological expertise to advance practical solutions for sustainable development, including the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Climate Agreement. SDSN works closely with United Nations agencies, multilateral financial institutions, the private sector and civil society. On January 10, 2022, the Network Strategy Council of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) approved Almaty Management University (AlmaU) for network membership. As a member of the SDSN, all AlmaU staff have privileged access to the networks activities, allowing the university to find and connect with other sustainability experts, promote activities and events, and open up new avenues for funding and collaboration.
