«AlmaU 4 You»: University for you, city, entrepreneurship and country

December 12, 2019, on the birthday of Almaty University Management, an open report by the rector of AlmaU 4 You: University for you, city, entrepreneurship and country, will be held at Q-lab.

Today, the university’s traditional functions — education and research — are no longer enough to remain one of the global social institutions of modern society. The third mission of the university is social orientation, service to society, contribution to the development of regions, cities, communities, the formation of civic activism and responsibility - a key agenda of higher education in the world.

The public report platform will bring together active residents of the city, leaders and employees of the public sector, parliamentarians, representatives of international organizations and diplomatic missions, figures of education, science, art, culture and sports, enlighteners, opinion leaders, representatives of non-governmental organizations, youth associations, entrepreneurs, businessmen , Media, university partners.

The main focus of the report is the implementation of the third mission of AlmaU, which is to contribute to the development of society and the creation of meanings. Our partners and participants (Sergey Ponomarev - journalist and participant of “Uly Balkash Shaqyrady” project, Shakhan Zholdasbayev - founder of “Pandus-OK” company, Saniya Arapova - Vice President of Association of Friends of Tel Aviv University, organizer of ”Student Entrepreneurship ecosystem” project, Ablai Yusupov - Director of Upgrade Group, AlmaU graduate) will share with you the results of joint projects through real cases. They will also talk about how we together influence the formation of values, form a civic position, and develop a culture of social responsibility in society.
