90 Students and Faculty from Regional Universities took part in the Entrepreneurial MeetUp as part of the Student Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Project

 On October 1-3, the Event withtin Student Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Project "Entrepreneurial MeetUp" took place at Hilton Garden Inn Astana. 

Entrepreneurial MeetUp is the Event that gathered students, faculty and staff of regional educational institutions-residents of the Student Entrepreneurship Ecosystem project develop new competencies, discuss interesting topics and trends with the involvement and proactivity of each participant.

The participants of the Meetup are the winners of the Big Ideas Marathon and Tumar Student Business Challenge contests, as well as 30 teachers and employees of universities and colleges.

At the opening ceremony, Ksenia Yuzhaninova-Karadenizli, Executive Director of the School of Entrepreneurship and Innovation of Almaty Management University, presented the results of the Student Entrepreneurship Ecosystem project and reminded the participants of the goal and mission of the project.

“Use all the opportunities provided to the maximum. During these 3 days, try to absorb all the knowledge, get acquainted and exchange contacts, use the best practices,” said Ksenia Yuzhaninova-Karadenizli.

At the end of the first day, participants presented their startups in the Open Program format, where they shared their results and plans. Artyom Khairulin from the Aktobe Higher Polytechnic College presented the online school of programming and design ESchool.

“We had projects on artificial intelligence and the release of power banks, but then we realized that why invent something and go beyond our capabilities if we don’t know how to do it. There are all programmers in our team, so we focused on what we all know how to do,” says Artyom Khairulin.

The next project was presented by Big Ideas Camp graduate Ilyas Azelkhanov. He notes that in order to earn money, it is not even necessary to implement a project. It is enough to create an attractive and workable product. This is exactly what happened with his first startup, ARchitec. This program, when hovered over a technical drawing that was understandable only to architects, designed a 3D building the way everyone else would see it. Another project is WOW ALIPPE, the alphabet of the Kazakh language in Latin with augmented reality. Pre-orders for this product are already underway.

Muslima Abdul has already implemented an interesting product for the production of designer eco-bags - Bye Plastic. Now the business brings the girl 90 thousand tenge per month.

The second day of the forum began with a speech by special guest Valentin Morozov, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Bank, who spoke within the framework of the “Sensei Room – Kasіpkerlik aғartushylardyn sheberkhanasy” format. He spoke on the topic: "Robotization of the Planet: Threats and Opportunities." Valentin told the students which professions will soon disappear and become automated, as well as what benefits and harms this will bring to humanity.

Aika Alemi, Aika Alemi brand designer and head of Kazakhstan Brand Incubator, delivered a practical training "How to be a creative entrepreneur?". She talked about how to turn your idea / hobby into a business, and then the students divided into 8 teams and worked out a successful team structure and prototypes of their companies together with Aika Alemi.

After lunch and more fun warm-ups, Evgeny Volkov, CDO of BTS Digital, spoke to the students. He spoke on the topic: “Okay, Boomer. Differences in perception and the problems of the zoomer generation. He said that everything that can be automated will be automated. And Enlik Tlepova, the founder of the Kazakh bed linen brand @jumsaq.kz and a rebellious jewelry store, talked about how to promote yourself and your product on social networks.

The third day of the event began with an interesting format in which speakers and participants discussed projects, competencies and business experience - Speed ​​Dating. This format allows you to talk in an informal setting with entrepreneurs, businessmen and top managers of various companies.
