On August 5 - 9, 2019, AlmaU acted as a partner of School of Responsible Business
Responsible Business School was visited by entrepreneurs, start-ups, students and teachers of business and economic specialties. The organizers and partners of the school were Youth Information Society of Kazakhstan (YISK), Center for Legal Policy Studies, Almaty Management University (AlmaU) and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
Along with Kazakhstani experts, 6 foreign speakers took part in the work of the school. Each group of students had their own program and topics. So, for example, tracks were held for students on the following topics: “Social Entrepreneurship” and “Corporate Social Responsibility”. Entrepreneurs also studied the topic of Corporate Social Responsibility. Teachers were provided with a track entitled: "How to write a training course for students on "Human Rights in Business" topic. The speakers adhered to a different format: lecture, interactive, and also held business games.
At the closing ceremony of the School, a closing speech was made by Irina Meldnikova, General Director of Youth Information Society of Kazakhstan.
“YISK has been engaged in education for youth in the field of human rights for about 10 years. Today we have two human rights schools. 4 years ago, we thought about reaching a new audience with a human rights theme. This platform allowed to spread values through youth. Because we believe that the new generation will mature and bring these values to all spheres of activity of the life of our state. Following the results of the School, students of various specialties took part, and we are happy about it. In our opinion, this only enriched the school!” Irina Meldnikova said.
The following closing word was given to the Vice Rector for Academic Development of AlmaU, Asel Arynkyzy. She emphasized that AlmaU does not say goodbye to any of the students, but looking forward to new meetings. After all, we are always glad to see people burning with the idea of integrating the economic and social development of the country.
The main pleasant news of the closing ceremony for young participants of the School was the statement by Asel Aryngyzy that AlmaU allocated 3 educational grants for the entire period of study in Business Administration in Entrepreneurship (BAE) to 3 participants of School of Responsible Business.
Business Administration in Entrepreneurship is a relatively new specialty at our university, which was opened in 2018. BAE specialty is ideal for innovators who carry their values and are aimed at disseminating them by creating their own business. Classes are held both in the formats of lecture and practice: participation in various entrepreneurial projects. During the training, BAE students acquire the necessary knowledge and skills for development of their own project and business.
The happy owners of 3 educational grants for 4 years of study in the first entrepreneurial university of the country were:
• Baturina Kristina
• Mahmoud Karina
• Evgeny Leonov
We congratulate them and believe that in the future, studying in the best entrepreneurial university of the country, they will live up to the expectations of their parents and the university!
